This year, it is 15 metres high with a diameter of 7 metres at its base, decorated as it should be with garlands of lights and a star at its top: majestic!

The Procuratie Nuove et Vecchie, all around Piazza San Marco, have been decorated with lusters of Murano glass made by the greatest master glassmakers on the island of Murano.
